Benchil right bank: if gates are unlocked members can drive down to riverside car park, please leave gates as you find them. If the gates are locked proceed about 400 yards towards Stanley and park in Thistlebrig public carpark and walk down path (directly opposite carpark) to river at top end of Benchil beat.

Benchil left Bank: Vehicular access to the Benchil left bank car park shown in the permitted parking map (above), and in the diagram below.

All members please note, when fishing Upper Scone in July 2017, that the Salmon Secretary has managed to arrange parking on the left bank above the Fishpond Cottages, in amongst the trees. This has taken a lot of careful negotiation and members should be very careful not to upset any of the residents, or the guests and ghillies on Fishponds (the beat immediately downstream of Benchil).

When motoring in, leave the Stormontfield Road and carry on down the hill, on through the houses, onto the private road adjacent to the mill lade right to the end where the Fishpond Cottages are. Pass through the barrier and follow round left to the CORE PATH which heads upstream into the trees, and park in the clearing in the trees.

Do not under any circumstances park on the grass at Fishponds old fishing hut.

In recent weeks, when fishing D. Mitchell's time share, a complaint was received that three members were parked on Fishponds Green, so we do not want a repeat. Just keep a tight rein on this, as being allowed this parking is very beneficial to PDAA members and we don't want to spoil it!
