Reply to letter sent to MSP Roseanna Cunningham  by TE regards inquiry into Salmon Fish farms.

Salmon fish farms Thank you for your email of 27 May to Roseanna Cunningham MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform on the above issue. I have been asked  to respond.. You may be aware that the Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform (ECCLR) Committee published its report on the environmental impacts of salmon farming on 5 March this year. That report has informed the consideration of the Parliamentary Inquiry into aquaculture being held by the Rural Economy and Connectivity (REC) Committee, which has concluded its evidence sessions and is now preparing a final report – of which we await the outcome. In addition we have recently published a Farmed Fish Health Framework document which aims to address emerging disease and biological challenges whilst supporting the sustainability of the aquaculture sector’s 2030 growth targets. http://www.gov.scot/Topics/marine/Fish-Shellfish/Strategic-Framework
