Map showing beat boundaries on Rome Croy/Muirtons (See also 'Our Fishing Rome Croy').
Now that the Game Fair has passed it is time to think about fishing the Stormont AC permits of Rome Croy and Muirtons. These two beats can provide the cream of the salmon fly fishing, if the back end run is successful.
For PDAA members, there are two permits available each day for each side. In September and October, these beats can become busy, with Stormont AC members, so it is best if considering trying here, that you try in July/August before the rush.Have a few trial runs and get lines etc sorted out, sinking lines work well, as do skagits, with tube fliesWillie Gun,Orange Black and Silver.. The Grainhead, historically was a netting station (Cleekum), so is only fishable after 6pm up till 20th August, when the nets used to go off. Members should note the division between each beat, as a queuing system applies when busy, and should not be flouted. See also 'Our Fishing Rome Croy'.
